Photographing Musicians

Authentic portraiture beyond pose & persona – course with Philipp Gladsome

Image of woman in a red orange bodysuit in front of the Eiffel Tower

This workshop is about the process of shaping a musician’s image through a portrait. It’s inspired by the work of Anton Corbijn, whose images shaped the visual identities of musicians through psychological depth and intimacy.

Hosted by Philipp Gladsome, the course focuses on trust, presence, and translating personality into authentic imagery.

Across three following Monday evenings, it combines elements of theory, practice and reflection – as well as collaborating directly with musicians and artists.

Why you should join

This course is for you if you are a photographer or aspire to become one – independent of your skill level. The course moves beyond traditional portraiture toward images that feel direct, human, and rooted in real connection.
