Our Fotografiska Spring Academy is a welcoming space for you to find inspiration, try something new, or build on what you already love. In one- and multi-day workshops, experienced artists guide you with their knowledge during hands-on practice as you build and create your work.

You learn new skills without the pressure of a long-term commitment. Whether you’re simply curious for a fresh experience or love to work creatively already, our sessions are designed to fit a range of skill levels and can easily integrate into your spring plans.

It is also a good time to think about a Fotografiska Membership – see our special offers when booking in combination with a course. Learn more through the links.

23-24 Feb, 3-4 Mar: Visual Storytelling

Led by award-winning photographer Mustafah Abdulaziz, this course introduces you to the fundamentals of photography and reveals how images can tell stories and share ideas. You explore unusual approaches to storytelling, creative strategies for developing a personal voice, and techniques for using emotion effectively in narrative work.

21-22 Mar: Your Creative Family Album

This workshop is hosted by photographic artist Anjali Janssens and invites you, inspired by Diana Markosian’s exhibition Father, to experiment with photography as a tool to reconstruct memory and identity. Afterwards, simply print your album as book thanks to our partner Once Upon.

12 Apr: Create Your Own Artwork

In this hands-on workshop with Anna Ehrenstein you create your own assemblage artwork using found objects, digital imagery, and everyday materials

1-2 May: Visual Journalism

Learn from Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Sergey Ponomarev how to tell powerful, fact-based stories using only images. On 1 May, you photograph political events, festivals, and cultural activities, and turn your experiences into a compelling visual story.
