FAQ – Fotografiska Academy: Portrait as Storytelling
Who can join this course?
This course is designed for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of portraiture, refine their artistic voice, and develop a strong portfolio.
How much does the course cost?
The course fee is 300 € (240 € for Fotografiska Members), which includes all five course sessions, select materials, a single exhibition ticket and a celebratory reception at Bar Verōnika.
When and where does the course take place?
The course is held at Fotografiska Berlin, Oranienburgerstraße 54, 10117 Berlin, on the following dates:
• March 17, Monday, 18:30 – 21:00
• March 24, Monday, 18:30 – 21:00 (includes visit to exhibitions of Frank Ockenfels 3 and Viviane Sassen)
• March 31, Monday, 18:30 – 21:00
• April 7, Monday, 18:30 – 21:00
• April 14, Monday, 18:30 – 21:00 (includes a reception at Bar Verōnika).
Please arrive at the main entrance by 18:15 to be guided to the study room.
What equipment do I need?
A DSLR camera is required. Bringing a portfolio is optional but encouraged for those seeking feedback on their existing work.
Do I need prior experience in portrait photography?
No, but familiarity with your camera and basic photography concepts will be helpful.
What is the cancellation policy?
More than 7 days before the course start date: Full refund.
Less than 7 days before the course start date: No refund.
Museum Cancellation: If the course does not meet the minimum of five participants, a full refund will be issued. Participants will be notified at least 5 days before the start date.
Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receiving a cancellation request or notification of course cancellation.
